Hello, my name is Annette (Toni) Sims. I am beginning my 18th year at Gaston Elementary School. I began my career at Gaston after graduating from Jacksonville State University in 2005. I received my Master's in School Counseling in 2012. I first began teaching as a Reading Intervention/Reading Recovery teacher for 3 years. From there I began teaching in a classroom where I taught first and second grade.

This year I am excited to begin a new role serving as the Elementary School Counselor. My goal as counselor is to meet the social, emotional and learning needs of the students and to help them be successful in school and in life. I am looking forward to my new role as counselor and am truly blessed to be a part of the Gaston Community!

I also have an amazing daughter named Jessica, two beautiful grandchildren, Ben and Charlotte, and an English Bulldog named Bella.
